Getting back into higher ranks.
Hello im kinda new to lol started late in season 3. let me start off by saying that during season 4 i was in silver 3 for a while until i got bumped down to bronze league after the new season update. I don't know why i got bumped down in ranking, wasn't on a losing streak or anything. So now i'm in bronze (which sucks donkey balls.) trying to get myself back up to silver. But there is one problem that stands in my way; My team. I know complaining about my teammates is stupid and childish but it seems to be the case why i'm not GAINING rank. Let me point out that bad teammates are inevitable sometimes and you just have to deal with it; But trying to rank up from bronze is tough because it seems like every game i have monkey's for teammates. the reason why i'm writing this is to get advice from someone who has been in my position. There are only really 2 types of players that i see all the time in bronze league. 1: someone who probably just finished watching a stream or a youtube video of a pro league player 1v5'ing and getting pentas and double kills all the time. This type of player then thinks he/she can do the same then fails. you can't 1v3 a leblanc, ez, and olaf as yasuo when you're at half health( a yasuo i played with very recently kept on doing this and it lost us the game.) If you're in bronze please don't 1v2,3,4or 5 because you are not a pro and have a 80% chance of failure maybe more. 2: The second type of person is the selfish quitter (FF@20) im sure you have seen that. I see it almost every game and if we don,t FF@20 that player just throws the game. The sad thing is; my teammates listen to this fool. everyone gives up if they're a little behind. These types of players seem to be overpopulating bronze league. All because you are doing bad does not mean you lost, you have other teammates and its teamwork that wins the game not your KDR. For example I was playing olaf top lane vs a vayne. and i was doing pretty good; preventing her from farming and getting kills. I thought we were doing pretty good considering a non fed vayne was easy to take out. But my team thought otherwise both our mid and bott lanes were a bit behind by a few deaths. we took out enemy top and bott tower and we lost our mid tower. It was 25 minutes in and the score was 8:19 for them which wasn't the best position for us now that i think of it. But its no reason to surrender. My team gave up; even our jungler who was 5/2 gave up. they even gave a reason to me why they surrendered in chat. "Ez sucks" he was 3/6 on our team, "Leblanc is too fed"7/3 and "miss fortune is too fed"5/2. I could not believe this mainly because if we had won that game i would have had the OPPORTUNITY to get myself out of bronze.
I do apologize for all this text and i understand if you dont want to read anymore. But let me finish off by giving you an example of a great team and one of the best games i ever played. This game was when i was in silver we were about 50min in and way behind. Our outer turrets were gone and our mid inhib was gone. The enemy had way more kills than us, got 3 dragons and got baron after they destroyed our inhib. we all thought it was a loss so the surrender bar popped up; 3 green 1 red the choice was mine. I was going to accept until the other lad(Thresh) who declined convinced me that we still had a shot; so i declined and the game kept going. His plan was to stay in a group and hug the most inner turrets until the enemy decided to push. what thresh did was throw his lantern at our spawn so when vi respawned she can get into the fight fast with her ult. this plan worked and we kill 4 enemies then managed to push their mid inhib. after that we got dragon and went back to base to defend our now turretless nexus. The same plan works AGAIN due to vi's handy ult and we won the game.
Anti climactic i know, but the reason we won was not our teams kdr it was teamwork and skill that got us victory. When i first PLAYED THIS game i was placed in silver 3 after my provisionals so i never played in bronze league. i'm not saying everyone in silver league are good players but at least it take a certain amount of skill to even play in higher rankings other than bronze. I guess my main question is how does one rank up in solo-que when 75% of the time my teammates are mindless nobs. Should i just make a new account and hope TO WIN most of my provisionals so i could start again in silver or higher. or are there certain champs that are safe to pick and can carry most games without having to be fed. I know there is no point in complaining about teammates, but i want people in bronze league to understand that lol is a team game even though you are in SOLO-que.
