RanK: Silver.
Opinion: Depends.
I used to do the same as you, but "high elo" for me = high plats up.
So I play with some silver friends, gold friends, and I have noticed they were right in some advices they told me. Sometimes after the game I used to talk to them about what I did wrong, or what I think they did wrong, and we understood what we were trying to do and all.
I have a main support friend too, so I tend to listen to her (because I trust her) when she slaps me to woke up in laning phase. Also, she mains differents champions than me, so is obviously she has more knowledge on some champions I want to learn.
But I tend to ask whoever I trust, depending in the elo. If they don't know the answer, I keep looking, or I ask several friends at the same time and compare the answers that led me to find my own answer, etc.
Is fun to have debates with people you can trust and you know they will not get mad because you're contradicting them xDD
