Disable In-game Chat?

Is there an option to disable chat in general? I got mine minimized to the smallest but it's still quite visible. I usually "/mute all" when I go into games because the toxic community out numbers the good in this community 9 to 1.

I also dislike the HuD of the chat as well. Is there a file I can modify to disable it in general? Or what's your opinion on this subject?
