Weird LP Loss/Gain

So ive been in gold II/III for some time now and ive been gaining about 17-19 LP per win and lose 20-22 Lp and i was like Ok fine whatever but then my friend who is Gold III atm is gaining 26 LP and losing 15 According to OP.GG we have about the same MMR (idk how realiable Op.GG is ) and in my opinion we play about the same with the difference he likes to troll a bit more he mains Support and sometimes plays Top i mainly play mid and adc. Can some1 explain how is he gaining so much and losing so little while i lose so much and gain so little?
