The magical way to fix about 70% of all the toxcitity

It's very plain and very simple. Remove all chat, at least from ranked. There is absolutely no good reason that 2 people from opposing teams should be communicating. There are a few reasons why they WOULD be communicating.

  • To give away information on their team

  • To complain about their team to other people

  • To try and smack talk

While a lot of it may be "in good fun" to "talk to other people in the community" that's just not the case. The only thing All chat does it open the line for them to talk to people they have no business to be discussing with while in game. Perhaps in normal games you can keep all chat to let people have that fru fru let's be friends crap, but at least in ranked let's keep it to a higher standard. I can guarantee that by removing all chat you would cut off a waypoint for a gigantic amount of ragers. Similar to the reason why seeing the other team's rank border and ping was removed. Devs listen plox :X

Umm... you can turn it off... and a good part of sportsmanship (that's the opposite of toxicity) is congratulating players when they make a good play on the other team.

I compliment the enemy for good plays sometimes. Sometimes some playful banter (damnit blitz stop killing my pinks!). I like how you left out all positive options in an attempt to strengthen your argument.

If you are incapable of speaking to an opponent without insults or trolling, that shouldn't take away my right to. If someone is misusing all chat, report them appropriately and move on.

Stop being a baby. Just because 70% of the community is toxic doesn't mean the ones with good sportsmanship should suffer.

Here try this, next time you get rekt in lane and get outplayed, say "well played" to the enemy. It makes the world a better place.

I'm not so sure about your thesis that the problem is /all chat. A lot of Tribunal cases and chat logs from more recent bans seem to be related to infighting within the team.

The vast majority of toxicity happens within your team chat, not in all chat... so why do you think removing all chat would reduce toxicity?

But I've had so many good conversations in all chat... it'd be a pity to remove it.

Although this would probably fix half the toxicity, it will forever be a part of the game. People should act like adults instead of being toxic, and until we can act as such the game will forever be toxic.

I don't think I've ever become toxic because of someone on the enemy team. I don't care if the enemy is feeding, and I don't care if the enemy is raging.
