I'll probably get a bunch of pro jock riders and fanboys thumb downing me, here.. But meh.
I find it a bit pulled back by the fact that pro's play a patch or so behind.. I mean.. None of us have the choice to continue playing on certain patches, we have to adapt and overcome changes.. Shouldn't they, too? I mean, especially being pro's - they should be able to do it even more easily than us average players?
Just a thought.
They play a patch behind because if there's a major bug on the newest patch it probably won't be caught right away.
Riot doesn't want to release a patch, force LCS to play on it the next day, and then in the middle of a live pro game have a lv 1 fiddlesticks auto attack 1 shot somebody because a coder accidentally added an extra 0 somewhere.
They play on the last patch because it is impossible to decide what was changed into viability and non-viaility withing a day or two.
I agree with what you are saying. I have to play with the new patch, so they should too. I get the whole "bug" argument, but rito is usually pretty good at disabling things like this. I also have to play with the same bugs, so they should too. I don't think that they should play on new patches for the LCS tourney though, that wouldn't be cool.
