Fuck you riot. Nuff said. win 5/10 placement games and carry my team for 8 of them but because you match me with r%%%%%s that cant play the game they feed and then i lose and 5/10 games and you put me in B5 fuck you royally.

The placement takes your previous seaon rank, combine with your mmr during placement then give you a new rank. It won't be drastically different from your last season since it's a soft reset.
Unless you're doing very badly.
