Opinions on toxic players?

This isn't exactly about toxic players, but I'm writing a paper for my multi-genre writing class, and I chose to write about how toxicity can cause a team to lose a game, or the reverse, where a team that cooperates wins more. I was looking for different opinions that I might use in my paper.

League, like all things Online in the Interwebs is susceptible to the arm chair warrior attitude. People will flame, because the internet gives them anonymity that they cannot get away with interfacing with real people. No one likes being talked down to or treated poorly; this is true for any thing in life. Children are more responsive to rewards rather than punishments, carrot vs. the stick... age old discussion.
