Riot placement stuff

Ok so massive rant here. I was duoing ranked flex with a friend. We both have played 0 games and last season we both placed in silver 3. So throughout the games we were facing mostly gold and platinum players which was strange for us. Somehow still won more than half the games. Now this was the most bizarre part. My friend placed in Silver 5 and I place in Bronze 1. Why? We almost everything about us were the same. Later they put out that they had matchmaking issues so we have to play one more placement game. Yay I thought. I might not be stuck in bronze. We won that game. My friend went up to Silver 4. I stayed in Bronze 1. That was when i became saltier than the Dead Sea. Anyone else have a problem like this?
