Why do [most] American girls dig the British accent? Just curious.

The grass is always greener on the other side.
Because we sound more cultured than the colonies.
Because theyre smooth and sexy, Suave and elegant <3
But im a sucker for all accents in general :D
Banter!
I think it depends on what they think a British accent is, I think a lot of the time English accent is more connected to 'BBC' English, that is with no regional dialects (this is normally what is heard in movies). This is very formal and as such the view would be we have excellent manners (thats what my Canadian friend said to me when they heard me!), perhaps its more the association with manners and 'class' than the actual accent but who knows!
Just speculating here, but I'd guess it's because it sounds exotic but still understandable.
I like Scottish accents more because even in English I cannae understand what they're saying half the time.
Research in the field of linguistics shows that our perception of accents has more to do with social and cultural associations than the way foreign accents actually sound. For example, in the United States, because of our country’s colonial history, Americans tend to associate the typical British accent with high social status. And when looking for a romantic partner, status has value
