Why do [most] American girls dig the British accent? Just curious.

I think it depends on what they think a British accent is, I think a lot of the time English accent is more connected to 'BBC' English, that is with no regional dialects (this is normally what is heard in movies). This is very formal and as such the view would be we have excellent manners (thats what my Canadian friend said to me when they heard me!), perhaps its more the association with manners and 'class' than the actual accent but who knows!

Just speculating here, but I'd guess it's because it sounds exotic but still understandable.

I like Scottish accents more because even in English I cannae understand what they're saying half the time.
