Thoughts on Ward Skins and Summoner Icons

Currently Ward skins are normally 640 RP while Summoner Icons are 250 RP.

Personally I have been trying to buy every summoner icon because I like changing it up and showing off different icons i different days depending on how I am feeling or what my friends are currently using. On the flip side when it comes to Ward Skins I own maybe 8? I only use the Riot ward skin from Pax a year ago.

Looking back at the prices.

The amount of work that goes into a Summoner Icon compared to a Ward Skin is clearly less explaining the price difference.

Ward skin:

• Idea 100 RP
• Design 2D 150 RP
• Model 150 RP
• Animation 240 RP (also sounds and particles that Kateykhaos reminded me of)

Summoner Icon

• Idea 100 RP
• Design 150 RP

Would people buy more ward skins if the price was 500 rather than 640?

Personally I don't think so, the idea for a ward skin is cool on paper and in theory "I can make something i put down 20-60 times a game more customized and personal" but in reality not many people even acknowledge the ward skin that the ward you are sweeping has on. At the moment i can't think of a way to make the ward skin more noticeable unless you have the ward skin you have on swirl around you either on start or have like a little ward swirl you on recall? They just don't attract enough attention for 640 RP in my opinion considering with the new HUD you see the summoner icons when you tab.

TL:DR Ward Skin's are not worth what they cost in RP compared to Summoner Icons in terms of visibility
