Had an extremely toxic player in ranked. "I'm afk", "I'm going to intentionally feed to make sure you lose", the works. After the game we reported him, and maybe 5 min later we both got the notification that a player had been punished due to our reports being the final straw.

Wait, that's a thing that happens? I never get a report like this, and I've reported a bunch of toxic players...
I know exactly how you feel. That simple message is just that feeling of satisfaction, that

As a diamond player, whenever I get banned i go on one of my silver or gold smurfs and rain hell on the lesser players because I was banned.

When I go this notification I honestly thought I was being banned until I read it over a few times. But yeah, it's nice to know a toxic person actually got punished!
When I got chat restricted after a game where I was playing badly, the guy flaming me and telling me he was going to report me (the one who should have been punished) added me to gloat about how he got this same message. I just acted like I couldn't understand his broken english until he fucked off. So yeah, it's fun to know that your reports actually have weight. But it's also so very easily abused to rub it in, knowing there won't be any reprecussions for you. I worked the chat restriction off and am continuing to mute everyone at the start of every game (fuck knows how I got the restriction in the first place). But this just once again shows that the report system is stupid.
After witnessing "unlimited complain thread" in the board, it's good to see some appreciation thread once in a while.
We appreciate the work you do against toxic players, and I realize how important it is when I play other games :^)

My duo queue and I got the same thing after reporting someone for saying "gg ez" after they won. I've reported a lot of people for that particular remark so it was definitely soothing to get that notification. Bet they were shocked.
