Build full AD items as his E scales incredibly well with AD. Many people don't know this, but his passive also has reduced cooldown as you roam around the map. Make sure to roam a lot early.

As a bard main I can confirm this post. I go ap mid with him, but he needs a buff because he can't 1v1 very well. Roit stop ignoring us dedicated bard main

Indeed, the AP scaling on his Q is insane. I have bursted down a Sion before with his Q > E combo.
