Why not to spend your money on RP

As someone who has spent about $200 in rp points over time, I hope i can offer some advice to newer players who have joined league. The reason for me writing this, I hope many of you who read this decide on not purchasing any more rp for this "free to play game". League of Legends is a great game to play with your friends let loose relax have some fun. One of my issues i encountered is one form of having fun is making jokes and sometimes yes they do get out of hand in chat. The jokes then turn into he said she said REPORTED. After a few reports you will be suspended or banned the more you play if you are the type of person who cant go without criticising other players don't waste your money on RP. You will eventually be banned. I know most of you are fine and can go on playing league and hushing your constitutional right of freedom of speech and thats fine waste all the money you like. This is for those players who have a hard time staying quiet through a game like myself and will eventually be reported even over the course of 4 years it will add up and get you banned. It would be the right thing to do if riot would at least refund the money purchased to be used ingame which of-course now is completely useless after you are banned.

First of all, Free Speech does NOT apply here. Free Speech only means that the government cannot censor you. This is RIOT's private property- They can do whatever the hell they want. Also, if you don't want to get banned, don't flame. You can crack jokes, but you can't insult someone's mother or life.

False. Suspensions and bans require either numerous repeated offenses or particularly severe toxicity, and the vast majority of players are never punished regardless of how long they play.

If you are the type of person who can't go without criticizing other players, you should probably find another game to play. Very few people enjoy being belittled and criticized, and the punishment systems in place reflect this.

Freedom of Speech applies exclusively to government protest, it has nothing to do with how private companies work with their communities. Riot could permanently ban every single account in the game tomorrow and it'd be completely in accordance with law and their terms of service if they wanted to, but obviously they wouldn't do so since we are consuming their product.

It is not Riot's fault permanently banned players that spent money get banned; Riot has very clear rules and associated punishments in place, and they expect their community to abide by those rules. It's up to the player whether he or she wants to follow the rules, Riot simply enforces them.

Very few companies offer refunds to people that break their terms, it would be like Apple refunding the cost of an iPhone to someone that rooted and bricked it despite knowingly circumventing their terms of service.
