My last game is pretty much why I play ranked
Hello all,
To start - I am a pretty average player. Been playing since a bit before the swain release I think, and for the past few seasons I have hovered around Silver in ranked, going as high as gold 5. I typically am pretty positive and constructive, but I recognize I am definitely toxic in some games when I get frustrated and try continually improve upon that, as well as try to improve my skills. I think this describes many people who play ranked (or play LoL in general).
My last game is basically the reason I play ranked still, and I wanted to share with everyone!
It was simply a beautiful, fun game all around. Our team was never toxic in anyway; in fact I think the most negative statements were probably by me when I said Teemo shouldn't have tp'd bot with tower at such a low HP, or Olaf shouldn't have gone in 1v3. If those are the most negative comments by your team, that already makes the game very enjoyable.
Nobody flamed when our top first picked Teemo and then afk'd til game to go poop. Nobody raged when Olaf missed a team fight because he was peeing - it was just requested that he tell us next time. It got to the point where the enemy Zed could combo me and when I asked for help after dying quickly 2 team fights in a row, nobody got mad, Leona just said sorry and that she would cover me. And by george, she took that big golden shield and followed my skinny tattoo'd ass around the rest of the game.
Nobody made an excessive number of bad plays for our skill level, and nobody raged when those bad plays were made. When somebody made a move, or called for a rotation or objective, people typically followed relatively quickly. It was not a perfectly played game by any means. It was however, a very beautiful game for a group of 5 people who have never played together as far as I know and given our level of play.
It was not a steamroll, and the other team was not bad by any means. Both teams made good plays, and it was a competitive, fun game - exactly what I want in ranked. To top everything off, it was the final game in my series to go from Silver 5 to Silver 4 - my third attempt at this series in about a week and a half.
This game, where 5 people who don't know each other at all joined together to play a great, smart, positive and intuitive game together and came up with a solid win is why I play ranked.
<3 to all who read, and especially to my team from that game.
No TL;DR - if it's too long just skip it. Nothing important, just a feel good story.
