Does Ivern really free the jungle camps?

So apparently Ivern can free jungle monsters with his passive but if he really freed them why would the jungle items passive that specifically states when you kill a monster still grant the extra exp. What is the meaning of this is it some kind of joke? he is suppose to protect the animals but gets rewarded for killing them that's not right. I think some rewording is in order im sure someone as peaceful as ivern wouldn't harm the creature of the river. what do you guys think about this contradiction?

As far as the item knows, their spirits are not in the realm it is made to observe any longer.

They give up the gold they collected willingly and leave.

Don't be silly. Clearly Ivern is just getting an extra reward for being nice. It just happens to be the same reward as killing them.

The jungle camps go off to live on a farm.

Just like pets.

Ivern mugs the jungle mobs, taking their gold and killing them.

Who knows, maybe one of them will become Batman
