How Many 15 Year Olds are there in diamond+?

However, unfortunately there probably are not many teenage players in Diamond. It is not that they have inferior skill in any way; it is because it takes hours upon hours to climb in with the current ranked system in League.

Assuming a player starts in Silver III. If that player rocks a 66% win rate and has high enough MMR to gain upwards of 20 + LP per win and 10 LP per loss, that player will still need around ~8 games to climb one tier if no accidents occur. If we factor in some unforeseen circumstances such as AFKs, power outages, etc. it might take as many as 9 to 12 games to climb a tier. If each game takes around 40 minutes, it becomes evident how much time it would take to climb.

Most players can't get 66% win rates or high MMR to give 20 + LP per win and 10 LP per loss. The actual time required is probably many times higher than the estimation I mentioned earlier because a decrease in win rate or MMR has a non-linear inverse effect on the amount of time required, and the two factors also work multiplicatively with each other.

Teenagers simply don't have enough time to invest in something like this. Even if they have the ability, it will take months of 8 to 12 hours sessions every weekend. It is probably possible if they play during their breaks, but otherwise there just isn't enough time in a school year. From my own circle of friends slightly older than you, those who made it to Plat + have all been playing for at least 2 years.

If you can make it to diamond at 15, it just shows how committed you are to League.

There are 15/16 year olds in Masters/Challenger so it really isn't all that special. D5 is still pretty bad lol

Probably not that much lol some friends and I started playing when we were 12 years old and we were all bronze (or at the time, <900 elo). I'm almost 17 now and floating around upper silver. Once you get to Gold most people are mature enough to not purposely throw a game or go afk but in bronze or low silver someone will afk the moment you get slightly behind which is why people claim they are "stuck".

I'm not that motivated for wins in solo queue, I just try to have fun and I'm sure if I had a ranked team I could do much better but I do not want that right now :^)
