so can you get derank from your current rank if your inactive from the game or inactive from rank?

If you are inactive from ranked for 28 days, then you will start to lose a certain amount of LP each week (how much is dependent on your tier), and yes, this can cause you to be demoted.

HOWEVER, this only applies if you are in platinum or above. If you are gold or below, then you will not lose any LP or be demoted for being inactive.
