Riot Games 2 Factor Authentication

With the recent hack on Dropbox again, and someone trying to access my steam account from Central Serbia that was stopped by steamguard, it makes me wonder why Riot hasn't added a way to get 2fa whether it be with Authy, or their own app I think this is a valuable asset to protect account.

The founders of Riot Games seemed to have agreed in a post a while back when Riot was hacked and things were accessed that 2fa was a good thing to set up. (Ex: Usernames and real names). The post about it.

Now was the tech available back then? Yeah, and it is invaluable to someone's account safety. So what ever happened to the 2fa? They said in the post that things were in development but it has been 3 years.

Did they sweep it under the rug? Did they once again make a promise they swept under the rug because things come to pass?

Who knows, but what we do know is that hackers never stop and that 2fa is becoming more and more common on most popular websites and apps/games adding a service to add that extra layer of security. I think that Riot should take another look at creating a mobile app or email verification to add the extra layer of security. It seems very much more doable now that they have the league friends app.

TL;DR: Riot was working on 2fa 3 years ago but it never saw the light of day. With the recent hack on dropbox (again) it seems to be a thing we need.

It's because Riot has "bigger priorities."

Everytime I hear that I sigh.
