This is a semi-repost but I want Lyto to see it since he was sighted here recently:

So here's the type of behavior that got me a 14 day ban:

As you can see there is no homophobia, racism, etc. I have a feeling there are a lot of bans out there like this.

Now take a look at this kid's reform card:

We have me and people like me, along side people like the person above. Both receive exactly the same punishment. I never get as worked up as you see above anymore. It's just not worth it to get banned along with Ku Klux Kid. But should I have gotten the same punishment as him in the first place? Should I lose ranked rewards along side the people that you say have committed the most egregious offenses that include racism, sexism, hate speech etc. when I'm clearly not doing those things?

I got my jimmies rustled and responded poorly. I don't bother trying to explain anything to anyone anymore. Just mute and move on. Was I supposed to get a 14 day ban? Those are for hate speech not getting upset at people being jerks to you right?

Severity is only 1 factor in punishments which is the only aspect we really get to see since no matter what someone did people only get 1 log(maybe up to like 3 from support). But frequency of negative behavior is also a significant factor. So yes, when you put 1 of your logs next to one of that guys logs it can seem ridiculous that you got the same punishment. What isn't being shown though is that your punishment was almost certainly the result of many games like yours where as the more severe case was probably the result of only a couple extreme incidents.

The logs that are provided are meant to be an example, not a comprehensive list of everything you have done.

Yeah it works, I can understand your ban and I don't need to read the other persons. Why ? It doesn't make any difference to what you did.

No one here can say what is going on with the other player who's chat log you put up. Let's just say maybe that person is just about to get a perma-ban and is not even worried about season rewards.

All and All just because you think their are worse players around doesn't necessarily mean you don't deserve your punishment.

I don't have anything to hide. That game wasn't the only one I had like that but it was about as extreme as I got in the face of what we all face on a daily basis.

If I had known that it was possible to get a 14 day ban for calling for people who say things like the things in that other player's screen cap to be reported then I wouldn't have asked anyone to report them.

If my ranked rewards are to be deleted I just want to know that this is what Kir...Lyte intended.

Retorting alone did get me banned though. Unfortunately I don't have more logs to prove that. I don't initiate flame wars with people. Even in this log you don't see me calling anyone stupid for anything they did.

However, I was called that and much more in that match.

I don't want to argue with you over this and I am not about to dig deeper for a quote that exactly fits your comments, however this is Lyte talking about confronting negative players. I used one of Lytes responses because as you said you ' wanted to hear it from him'. I have seen other Rioters respond more specifically about the matter.

But he honestly just seems like someone who is being set off by other people, rather than someone who is causing the initial toxicity to me.

Retaliation isn't OK. It just makes it a worse experience for the 8 other players. If there was a player that initiated, they are most likely punished as well.

I didn't leave the middle statement in quotes to show the difference, 1st is title thread, 2nd is a poster, 3rd is Lytes answer and reason why. ( I hope that makes sense ) And I hope this helps you OP.

I hope you don't mind if I quote myself from another post, but I'm really tired and kind of out of it atm, so I don't trust myself to say things quite right. I'm applying a minor edit to ensure that it reads right in response to you, though.

Intensity is pretty obvious, and most people already know about it. At the top end are hate speech, death threats, and the like - the really nasty stuff. At the low end are comments like "ggez" and "report x for y." The more intense the toxicity, the higher the likelihood of punishment - and the more severe the punishment.

Frequency is the one most people gloss over, but it's still really important. In the same way that doing "more bad" things can increase the likelihood of punishment, doing more bad things can lead to the same effect.

In short: no, you weren't part of the "1-and-done" group that uses hate speech and death threats. You were less intensely toxic, which indicates that you were toxic more often. This is particularly true now, when those super-high-intensity behaviors can earn a ban after only a single offense.

Oh I never made a screen of mine. If Lyte wants to see my reform card text in screen cap form I'll go dig up the email though.

I lifted this screen cap from a thread all those months back when the first wave of 14 day bans went out. That player was wondering why he was banned.
