A good support player picks their champion after the rest of the team has (most importantly, after the ADC has). They can see if the team needs more poke, sustain, tank, peel, engage, etc. and pick accordingly. Teambuilder does not let this happen, forcing supports to deal with a sub-par ADC-Support combo, or bounce game to game in search for a better combo.
Alternatively, the same player can queue up for blind pick, pick the champion that works best with their team, and be started in less time than it would take to play the lottery "Find another team" game.
Teambuilder will get more players when it actually becomes a worth-while queue. Until then, I avoid it.
