Ideas to improve ranked champion select

What if you could assign preferred roles/positions on your profile somewhere? Say you have to pick between 2-4 positions that you are willing to play, and then when you queue for ranked, it takes those into account. Each ranked team could require that at least one of every position and one of every role is preferred by at least one person on the team, but not all on one person (so you don't get stuck with only one person bot lane preferring both marksman and support).

This would allow for flexible team comps, not enforcing the meta, while also increasing the chances that you'll be able to play something that you want to play.

For example, I could list my preferred positions as jungle/bot/top and list preferred roles as tank/fighter/support. I'll be matched with a team that has at least one person willing to be a marksman, at least one assassin, and at least one mage, with duplicates of some roles as well. Once we're in, based on our pick order we'll decide who plays which role. People may not get their #1 preferred role, but they will get a role that they themselves listed as one they're willing to play.

Also, these preferences could be listed somewhere, maybe if you hover over their names. That way it's even easier to decide who will go where.
