Champ select Chat

Can we get some synchronization with the chat or something? I don't enjoy draft-style play but when you do a normal que everyone calls mid or top. Unspoken rule, respect the call.

Well its pretty damn hard to do so when 3 people have 3 different versions of the same chat...

For example: insertnamehere joined the room.

Yournamesucks joined the room.

imstupidandsmitethesmallminion joined the room.

insertnamehere:To p

imstupidandsmitethesmallminion: Toop

Yournamesucks:Pot i mean Top

insertnamehere: I GOT IT FIRST... "pidandsmitethesmallminion joined the room.insertnamehere:To pimstupidandsmitethesmallminion: ToopYournamesucks:Pot i me"

But to someone else it comes out the EXACT OPPOSITE.

Delaying the chat for a few second would be a really good solution, that is if the chat didn't also have a loading time by itself. im not sure how it works, but if riot could delay the chat by a few second, that would fix this problem

I think the idea that needs to happen is we need to have a delay where no champions or chat can be done while people have not loaded yet. It would help waiting in draft for the last guy to disconnect and it would help in other matches by allowing people to call a role.

However, I feel the real problem is not that one person cannot call a lane fast enough I feel that it is the idea that no one wants to play utility roles like support, tanks, or jungle. The majority want to be the hard hitting ADC TOP MID laners who can deal the damage and carry. The problem I see is that in normal and low tier leagues the individuals are trying to be the star of every game by being the carry instead of playing a role extremely well.

In ranked at least I wish there was a way to decide, pre-game select, a role or roles you feel comfortable with to allow match making to put teams together where you dont have 3-4 people calling top. The only draw back is that match making times would be longer but I've seen it work on Dota2.

Tl:Dr Allow players to pick a role before queueing

Good solution to be sure. I disagree with the tank/jungle part but RARELY do i ever see someone call support.

Having chat/champ select locked for 10 seconds before (similar to the post-select 10 seconds) would be decent.

Though then again on an average day there is three of us quing together, i prefer top/mid, Sid prefers top/mid/jung and Tad prefers mid/adc. Sid and i can both support and usually do decent but prefer to go offtank/tanky jungle/tops.

Would just be cool if chat wasnt so... connection determined?

on an offnote, a vote based system would be cool to have as well though would be biased for people like myself with 2 freinds to que with on a normal basis.

The biggest problem ere is that yo uhave to deal with either an unresponsive control, and unreliable one or a non-deterministic one.

Unresponsive : When you send a message, it sends it to the server. The server propagetes the answer, and you get, in the console. the messages in the order the server received it. This means that if you have 200 ping, you will get all messages .2s after you press enter. It will feel clunky.

Unreliable : When you write a message, it outputs it in the console, once you get the server's answer, the messages will order themselves based on when it received it. that means some of your post will end up moving around the chat. It will fell clunky.

Non-deterministic : When you write or receive a message, it outputs to the console. not everyone has the same messages in the same order. People complain since they can't be wise enough to simply swap lane.
