Just noticed while playing that if you press ctrl+6 you get the following message "you have not unlocked the mastery emote on this champion". So are we going to be rewarded by earning top mastery with a new champion animation??
Kinda. You need at least Master Level 4 to unlock the emote, which performs an animation of the appropriate Mastery medal over your head. There is no new animation on the actual champion.
