I just wanted to play a little LoL! Rawr!!

Basically, I'm trying out WoW right now because LoL's new season didn't hook me the way every previous season has.

If you're interested, my experience upon coming back (as a jungler, my main role) is:

  1. Where do I start? It seems like it's best to save red and blue for later smites but I'm going to have to play 10+ bot games to find out.

  2. OK, I played a couple of bot games and it seems like Red->Golems is a good starting route.

  3. Crap, now I have to figure out which machete upgrade to take (is it even called a machete anymore? I really don't know). There's a lot of text for all these options. Nothing obvious. Looks like one of them makes my smite aoe, so that should help my clear, though there's another one that looks like it reduces my smite cd when I kill a monster with it... Why are these options so difficult to understand?

  4. OK, I think I can clear and build well enough to play a normal game. Let's do this!! Pre-spawn play forces me to start on blue side, so I'm immediately out of my comfort zone (who is the best to smite first? /worry). I start with the ghost thing because it returns damage, hoping to improve my clear speed. As I continue, I see the subsequent monsters burning and figure it's working, though I don't know how well. I look for the buff on my buff bar, but am unable to find it and don't know how long it will last.

  5. My clear doesn't go very well, so I go back early.

  6. Top lane dies but his opponent stays at low health. I'm one level short but I decide to go for the kill, since enemy top-laner has only a sword (no pots).

  7. It's close, but I die :(. Now I'm behind, so I start thinking about altering my strat.

  8. I go for the smite reduction machete upgrade. I don't realize until late in the game that the smite cooldown reduction only applies if you kill an opposing jungler's monster with it. Again, there's a lot of text.

  9. Now I'm too tired to keep typing. Long story short, we lost the game. I got blamed. They said it was because we didn't get enough dragons, but I still don't know what the dragon does (I know it's different than before, but I don't know how. I didn't prioritize it because I heard something about "no more global gold"). I killed the crab thing 3 times and still don't know what it does (I read the thing, looks like it gives a conditional movement bonus for an unspecified buff duration). I'm going to play WoW now because LoL has more fine print than I'm willing to sift through.

PS What's up with these "Boards"? It took me forever to figure out what's going on here, and now it won't even let me post without "selecting a board". Gerneral Discussion. Where the f** is General Discussion? Where the f*** should I put this? Sigh... playing and talking about this game feels like such a chore. Here's an idea: How about a board called "Feedback about LoL"?

I remember when I first played WoW, when it was first released and it actually took effort and skills to level up, And took about 6 months for a new player. Now people hit max level in a week....
