(Possible) Solution to Drophacks!!

So about thirty minutes ago, I was playing as Nami in a normal game (with two other of my friends). The game was relatively even (kills were around 32-35, towers were even) and the game could have gone in any direction.

But suddenly, all the units in the game froze and the little "Attempting to Reconnect" window popped up. My skype was still connected, so I asked my other two friends if they were connected too. Nope. We were drop hacked. In a normal game. Ha.

Anyways, while complaining on skype and steam to my friends (who had just closed league and tried to reconnect from the client) who were in the game with me, I recalled someone telling me once how he had won a supposedly dropped game. He had just absent mindedly clicked around the map while the game was trying to reconnect to the game, but he noticed that every once in a while the map would update and his champion would be closer to wherever he was spamclicking. Eventually, after A-clicking towards their nexus for long enough, he had won the game.

So I decided to try it out. I spammed A-click down top lane, except for me, rather than eventually winning the "disconnected" game, the whole connection itself just returned with a message in chat: "Soraichu has unpaused the game." as if it were a tournament draft. And from there the people who were still staring at the reconnect box just reconnected and started playing again after a brief moment of confusion. So yeah. A potential fix to drophacks for you guys! <: --- Oh, and you might be able to see who was the culprit for the drop hacking as well. For my game, everyone but our Brand and their Swain had reconnected. Swain had been doing relatively well, and Brand was doing uh.. well, he could have performed better to say the least. In postgame lobby, Swain was outlined in red because he hadn't reconnected, therefore he was a leaver. But Brand had joined the ingame lobby. As soon as I had pointed it out, he left. So uhm, there's that for you guys.

**tldr: If you're drophacked, just spam all the inputs you can towards their base (ie: a-clicking, right clicking, q, w, e, r, annyyything) and hopefully maybe you'll eventually reconnect or win the game. :D **

I have no idea which board to post this in so okay. ;w; EDIT: This is most definitely the wrong board oops.

thanks, is there a basis to tell if drop hacking exists or could other factors be at play?

This happens to me almost every ranked game I play, and a lot of the time elsewhere, I get a massive surge of dropped packets (checked my logs)

on the extreme cases, the logs themselves are unable to be written,

i dont know if I would call this a solution, since some packets are still getting through, it could mean you throwing the game for your team, especially if the disconnects are individualized.

I'll ty it next time though, since it happens so often.

Yeah, sorry, but you weren't being drophacked. If you still have connection to other services, that's just the Riot server having issues. A drophack is an all or nothing denial of service towards your IP address.
