The League System is Broken

Okay, this might make sense to some, but it doesn't make sense to people who understand logic. Last season, I only won three of my ten placements and placed Silver V. Cool, this is a good placing for my bad win ratio. I clearly deserve lower for this. However, I didn't get that.

Now here's where it gets tricky, this season in Season 5 I win five of my ten placement matches. Great, I by that logic I should get a higher spot in my League placement... right? Wrong, by Riot's logic I should be placed in Bronze V for getting better at the game (thanks for the reward, such a kind jester to show that I've improved as a player.) It seems I need to win %20 of my placements to be placed higher, I mean if my win ratio is higher and I got placed lower. Then clearly, I needed to only win two of my matches to be placed Silver VI-III, or only one my my placements for a chance at Gold V.

I want an explanation for this backwards system, and I want from someone that actually works on the code. I deserve that much for all this hard work and better win ratio to only be placed in Bronze V. And, I'm not even going to mention the three games that were just... you get the point, that's no the point. The point is, better win ration = better placement from last season.

What rank did you end last season at? Remember its not just how many did you win. Where you were last season and who you actually beat this season make a big difference on how you place. Also most people this season found themselves dropping. There was a soft reset on peoples mmr which lowered everyone slightly. Even if you were still silver 5 at the end of last season, you could easily have the mmr of someone i n b1 or b2. COmbine that with the soft reset dropping you a little bit, and depending on who you lost to when you went 5/5 you could drop to b5 pretty easily, especially if you are marked as borderline b4, but not quite high enough to get out of b5.

On the bright side even if you are in b5, just play the right champs and you should be able to murder everyone and carry yourself out easily. You can always grab a duo buddy for help.

Kindof... That's half of it. But you also have to keep in mind that that is a multiplier of your Elo rating. So the more you win, the faster you go up. If you are a diamond level player, and you hop on a bronze account, you will win more often and move up much faster. I strongly recommend googling Elo calculations.

If you still disagree, then you just need to study the numbers more. Not everyone is a math person, so not everyone can understand. Until then, you'll just have to take it by faith. Numbers don't lie :) It's like the basic math of the universe... the math works, independent of our ability to understand it fully.

What I'm getting at is that bronze walls are players' own thick skulls. There is no such thing. It's all basic statistics... no magic involved. If you get better (relatively speaking), you will rise in rank. If you haven't risen in rank, you have not gotten better.

I don't mean to be rude, though, so please don't take it that way. I've always been bronze, and I've won 5 out of 6 placement games... but I have a bad case of bronze-o-phobia so I am afraid to finish them :o

10 players per match.

there is you 4 allies 5 enemies

Assuming you are not a troll, the enemy team has a significantly higher chance of having more trolls than your team (oversimplification, but you get the idea). So you have a troll pregame? ok, so what? Maybe they have two? Carry harder. Lost a game? ok, it happens. If you dont rage or troll, you already have a significant advantage over the enemy team, on average.
