I must have left my hextech keys in my other pants

I love the new hextech chests and I think everything about it is a great idea. But I think that keys and key shards are too hard to come by. I've been sitting here with four chests since they came out and i maybe will get one out of three key shards once every two weeks. I know few friends who agree with me on the too. I understand that Riot can't just give out free stuff all the time but still... Why give me the chests if there's no way to open them for months?
