Fine Print

Prepare for the 2015 season with a kickoff sale! | League of Legends

I love how Riot thought it was so funny to just put up a wonderful post talking about their kickoff sale to the 2015 season. I was looking forward to it for the reason of rune pages, as four has stopped cutting it with my ever growing pool of champions. Surrender@20 had let us know that the rune page sale we were expecting in December unfortunately got pushed off till January. No worries, as I was willing to wait an extra month before dropping another 5 dollars of the hundreds of dollars I had dropped on the game. I usually find Riot's sales and announcements as somewhat of a gift, it's fun to see the champions and skins available at a lower price, and even the upcoming content to the game. However this time I was VERY displeased. After reading the post (linked to this discussion) I was finally ready to hop on in to season 5, boost my elo (with hope), and grab my new rune pages. I read the entire post and hurriedly rushed into the market to deposit money for RP and get my two additional rune pages. However, I was VERY upset to find that I only received one rune page, as opposed to the two I was promised. Rushing back to the post I looked to see if there was anything I missed, and of course there was. In small print at the very bottom it read: "This sale will go live on January 22nd and last until 23:59 PST on January 26th." I was f****** pissed to find that Riot had put the most important info at the bottom of the page, in an insignificant place. Like stated before I've dropped hundreds of dollars on this game, but one thing has always been clear, the date of the sale. I felt cheated by some corporation, like they had played with the fine print, and it was EXTREMELY uncharacteristic of Riot as a company. Every other sale unless made the day of availability had the date of said sale IN THE POSTS NAME. I've been playing since Season 1, and am disappointed that I see Riot going this way. I just want to know if anyone else fell under the guise and trap of this poorly made post, and their thoughts. Thank you for listening to my frustrated rant, it wasn't written with a pride at me trying to cover my stupidity of reading all the way through, but my disappointment at what I felt Riot had done.

I just wanna note: that "very small print" as you put it? It's the exact same font size as the first paragraph of the article, and the descriptive text for every sale entry.

And here's some sales that don't have the date in the article title:

http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/store/sales/suit-snowdown-vault-clearing-sales http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/store/sales/skins-still-vault-hours-being-stolen http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/store/sales/haunted-hoard-harrowing-sale http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/store/sales/commemorate-past-championships

In fact, the only sales that have the date in the article title are the twice-weekly "standard" sales, which are formatted to indicate which days they're for, and are posted the day before they start.

So, I'm sorry. I really am sorry that you misunderstood. But you misunderstood.

it also stated to go to the bundles page to get your 2 for 1 rune pages..if the sale isnt live then you would have gone specifically to purchase a rune page. Which is still reading comprehension on your part and not riot trying to pull a fast one

Uhhhm this one is all on you...nice rant but ultimately its your impatience that caused you to spend money early...read the fine print next time...or just keep epic failing with your parents money

"it wasn't written with a pride at me trying to cover my stupidity of reading all the way through, but my disappointment at what I felt Riot had done."

Riot did nothing wrong here. This is your sheer stupidity or laziness, or impatience that screwed you out of your money.
