"We dream of films set in League’s universe and seeing our favorite champions come to life in movie theaters, but the track record on video game movies is a humbling lesson. For the most part, they aren’t great. And while the geek in us would love to rush into moviemaking, it’s definitely not something we should rush into."

They said this in the above article, Stateing how though a movie would be fun, they haven't been successful.

But let's take a look at this.

The new Champion comic. They have proven countless times they can easily write a good story, And twice they have written comic books based around champions. So how about instead of a movie, we get an Official League of Legends comic book series? They aren't quite the same as a film, but they could still turn into a huge success.

It's be nice to have the story of many champions, entangled together, told in a medium other than the game.

Sure voice overs are nice, and little events like the Battle for Freljord and The Hunt pull a few strings, but it's not very satisfying in terms of story.

A comic, starting with champions and other characters that interacted and having ups and downs, along with an overall theme or plot, would be a much stronger device. It wouldn't have to be huge comics either, as we've seen that it only takes a few pages to really get the story across. Riot has definitely shown us that their artists are talented with bringing quality comics to the stage.

The two problems I see with it is time and current champions; how often would Riot be able to publish comics and how often does the community really want something like that? How would they incorporate currently incomplete champions like Shaco or Evelynn into the comic, when they are supposed to be changed so drastically in the future.

However, I also see two very good things that it can help with; Constant updates that engage the readers in something other than just playing the game with specific champions, as well as putting a real emphasis on current stories, and being able to use the comic to introduce new champions, such as the example most recent given. It'd be interesting to see what the community would do when the comics suddenly reveal a new character, and it turns out to be our next champion.

Overall, it's got its ups and downs, just like everything else, but I for one am very much for it. Comics are my favorite medium (Albeit, I don't draw) and they tend to give a fun vibe to them as you pass through different strips and panels. It also has a slight advantage over video mediums in that certain scenes can be exaggerated since they are still frames.

All they said was we "should" not rush it. Not that they won't make a movie.
