[Suggestion] When playing bot games, players should be put into purple team as well as blue team.

When playing against bots, players are always put into blue team. I feel that this puts new players into a huge disadvantage when they're purple team in normals. I feel that if we implemented this system, new players would be able to transition more easily into normal games. I apologize if this was already brought up.

TL;DR: Players in bot games should not always be put into blue team, because it will be harder for them to transition to normal games.

Yes, this is a great idea. I remember the first time I was put on purple side and was completely shocked at how different it felt. It was a tough transition.

I certainly like this idea and I completely agree. It was extremely hard for me when I first started to transition from playing blue side to purple since I played a large number of bot matches.

The problem with this is that the bots are probably only programmed for purple side, and since the map is not symmetrical Riot couldn't just flip the map. As a result they would have to re-program each and every one of the bots for all maps and both difficulties. That would be a lot of work and I don't know if Riot would be willing to go in to do that.

Yep. This is something that needs to be looked into. I hate playing as purple, only because you don't play as purple when you play a.) against bots or b.) in tutorials. It would take a bit of work for Riot, but it would improve the gameplay experience for me.

No, they aren't. True, you are put into blue team by default, but you can actually change your team. There should be a button that has "Join" in the purple team section of the game screen (this is about a custom game). Just click it and you're on the purple team. Done.

Better yet, when playing any game, always display to the player that they are the same color and orientation of the map. (Yes, the map would rotate for Summoners Rift, but it would be MUCH less annoying than moving down and left to battle!)

This would keep anyone from being 'shocked' as no matter what, they are on the same team color. Makes it easy to know who to fight too.

As for people VIEWING the game, simple: Pick a color for each team just like it is done now. The only change here is on the client app when actually playing a game. Simply always use the same color, and rotate the map coords. (Easy to do using a translation matrix, but I'm sure the programmers already know that.)

At the very least, just use the same color images/icons. I think in a PVP battle it (at least for beginners) it gives an unfair advantage to the team that has the orientation that they expect.

Simple way to keep it fair.
