A Public Service Reminder: For All of Those Like Me
Hey there friends,
I just wanted to remind you that if you are consistently finding yourself frustrated with the game or you feel like it is something that is negatively affecting your life...just step away from the game.
I found that hard to do for awhile seeing as I've invested SO MUCH time into this game (and money...but that is my fault). This game is a game based around team-play and coordination. Unless you find yourself in the Diamond I+ leagues, that really isn't the case. (Although, even in D1-Challenger you can't escape the toxicity and egocentric individuals). If you are anything like myself, you play the game for fun and play to get better. In its current state, it is very difficult to do that whilst maintaining a positive, uplifting attitude towards the game and your teammates.
It may not seem like the ideal option, but after having taken a small break...I find that you can take a step back and really analyze exactly what you are doing while you are sitting at the computer for hours a day. While some individuals will never change, if you can change your outlook and overall perspective of the game...it really can be benefiting.
If you end up feeling angry, distraught, or even depressed after a couple of League matches...you should take a couple days off. The game has a way of pulling you into this toxic environment and flooding your thoughts with negativity. I've found it extremely useful to take a break and simply think about the game without being engaged directly with it.
Remember...people forget this all too often...
League of Legends is a GAME A game should provide a fun, challenging experience...
Riot cannot change the community. They can do their best to curve the toxicity to a tolerable level. But at the end of the day, the community is going to have to change itself. Riot doesn't play the games for us.
Think about it...
Sincerely, Fjurg
