Rage Reports and how they effect others.

Seems every game someone wants to report someone for something. How many reports are real and how many are out of rage and made up. For example I never talk in game. Yet somehow I got a pop up today saying I was recently reported for Verbal Abuse. In that same game there was someone calling everyone homophobic slurs and taunting. Now i'm offended that I got reported for something I didn't even do. As I play more and more league the toxicity seems to get worse and worse to the point i'm finding it hard to have fun anymore.

Guessing Riot is giving out automated ban warnings now and thats terrible idea with the way the people playing this game react to the smallest things. Die one time and your intentionally feeding. Mute everyone because your team is toxic and not worth listening to, and your refusing to communicate. Don't even talk and somehow your verbally abusing people..

You don't have to worry about the occasional false report, even with an automated system. Nobody but Riot knows exactly how the system works, but you can feel pretty safe in believing that it doesn't just look at the reports you've gotten because they want to minimize false positives and they know full well how childish the community is. They probably have the system scan your chat logs for phrases like "you suck" "get cancer" and racial/homophobic words as well.

If you get a popup saying you've been reported and you know you haven't done anything you can ignore it completely. Rage/false reports don't really affect others except make them worry a bit.

My biggest worry in the League of Legends community is that reporting truly isn't helping anybody. I know that whoever I report could easily create another account and continue to terrorize the community with absolutely no end. I don't see an end to the toxicity.

Since I have gone down to their level and got the pop-up recently ( occurred after a series of games shared with toxic teammates in a recent game where I blew up over one person's comment that I heavily read into as being negative and responded in a fairly similar toxic dialogue which I am ashamed of ), my first thought was, 'What would I do if my account gets banned?' I've already put some cash into it and that scared me the most - losing what I had purchased. However, because I actually really enjoy League of Legends over any other MOBA, my next thought was that I could easily create another account.

While I would hope to reform on a new account if that ever occurred, I know for a fact that the plague of any community could easily create a new account. And never reform.

I just finished an ARAM match where the entire enemy team was completely toxic. From inappropriate usernames to verbal abuse, they were the definition of toxic. As I was reporting them I thought to myself What good will my reports do? Those players were smurfs. With alleged alternative accounts. How can I rely on RIOT to help rid the community of these players?

A good idea that just came to me is a stricter banning policy that can help stop allowing toxic players to easily pass through past Lv.10. I think there should be various punishments and restrictions put on all players who are below lv.11. A good example of this could be that if you are below Lv.5 and have been reported five times, you will be temporarily banned.

I want to see results from my reporting because I'm starting to feel hopeless.

Don't ever go down to their level, because when you do, you're no better than them. Do your best to swim through it and once you get to the post game, get revenge with your reports.

People need any excuse to blame a loss on someone. Sometimes you just generally do poorly for whatever reason and someone will report you for say --- verbal abuse, even if you didn't speak once.

It's one of the reasons why I hate that you can report someone for being generally unskilled. We have bad games, it happens.

Point is, I think a lot of reports are based off of someone raging way too much and needing to blame someone.

If it's a serious issue, I would bring it up in a ticket, or try to get Rito's attention. Otherwise, I'd shirk it off for now.

bit of a lengthy post, but I'm currently having somewhat of the same issue... All the people I pointed out were toxic and raging. Not to the extent of racial slurs and what-have-you, but toxic none-the-less. Though, I don't know that I've been reported.
