Riot I'm sad (Lifetime RP Rewards)

I've always thought Riot was a great company, coming off from 4 years of playing WoW and dealing with up to 9 months of no new content whatsoever League was a big deal for me and really great. Constantly updated with new content and always free of course however I like looking beautiful so I've purchased tons of skins almost 1000$ worth of RP. When I heard about the lifetime RP rewards I was ecstatic and I waited and waited for about 2 years I think all to hear they were eventually canceled and we get nothing. While that does sound entitled Riot's reasoning for canceling them all together was very disheartening. "it wouldn't make everyone happy"...well no what do you guys do that does make everyone happy? Go to any new champion spotlight and you will find thousands of comments screaming about how they are OP and should be deleted from the game. Those people aren't happy why are you guys releasing new champions at all? I'd even be happy with the evolving icon idea but apparently a random group of people said it wasn't enough so now we get nothing at all? I mean even people who originally purchased the Legacy skins got a special icon and a border when they use the skin I and a lot of other people will never get that but we still play the game and support Riot.

TL;DR I've endured release Darius purchased lots of RP and always supported Riot and continue to support them and try to enjoy and at least try all the new things they are going for and the cancellation of lifetime RP rewards is the only thing that has made me legitimately upset at Riot :(

im reading this and here is my brief summary I don't care if the people who spend money that have an advantage over people that don't spend money. The RP bonus would just give the people who bought the RP an even bigger advantage over the people who earn their champions.

My two cents.

Honestly, I'm done caring. I really have lost all faith in this company. It used to be a company that was pretty open with it's players, was honest upfront about things, and didn't break old promises.

Fast forward, and every promise they ever made has been broken. From IP gains and costs to Champion price reductions to fixing what they promised to fix to giving rewards to their loyal customers (in this instance, youtube, and facebook) to listening to the community to lore to Reworking champions around their core traits and keeping their identity intact to following up on said reworks to Esports not becoming all-consuming of their game to Fixing their old forums AKA GD (they gave up before they tried, does not count) to honoring LE skins etc etc etc, this company cannot say anything that I will believe. As a fan from early S1, they have lost every ounce of trust I once had for them.

It's their game, they will do with it as they will. They don't care about our opinions, and probably don't even want them. If they want to keep my business, they can directly compete with similar games, just like every other company, because that is what they are now. Just another bureaucratic game company with little interest for interacting with their fans or holding true to their word.

I'm not even mad. It's just how it is. If anything, I'm a little disappointed in myself for being optimistic about this. Oh well, it is what it is. I wish Riot success in their en-devours. Lord knows I've put enough money into this game to keep it going for a while, so I guess I can sit back and watch it sink or swim. Either way, I'll enjoy the ride as a player, not a fan.

My two cents, I think the community as a whole tends to have a very loud whining voice and is not to be heeded as much as it is. Secondly, like it or not RP purchases ARE what pay for the game to be free and evolve and I see NOTHING wrong with making that clear. If anyone is super hurt that there is something they can't get something for free when it affects actual gameplay zero, they are not the player to cater to. They aren't interested in supporting you they aren't interested in long term health of the game and by the same argument hate all content that can't be purchased with IP skins etc. Also the last thing I want to see is the game come up with another system to monetize the game like AD's PLEASE NO....

Either way there is a reward I do want.

I want some sort of recognition/way to tell how long someone has been a summoner. A border has for every year of play? idc. something.

Part of this stems from a convention I went to recently where there was a panel about league. I went, excited to talk about lots of things and come to find out the people RUNNING the panel had only played since the yasuo release ( 3 months or so at the time) and had no frame of reference for most of what I wanted to discuss (uhhh whats heart of gold? malady? FoN?)

Anyway i think it would be really cool and something I always want to know about a player. ( it works on XBlive why not here)
