Lore, and why you shouldn't expect to get the whole story...
The point of my post is to squash all this bickering between people about lore, not to mention the complaining that League doesn't give you enough information when it comes to a Champs story. LORE lôr/Submit noun a body of traditions and knowledge on a subject or held by a particular group, typically passed from person to person by word of mouth. "the jinns of Arabian lore" synonyms: mythology, myths, legends, stories, traditions, folklore, fables, oral tradition, mythos More
By definition the word "LORE" is "Typically passed from person to person by word of mouth." Assuming that you all have played a game of telephone before(we all have to play that crap in school at one point...) you would know that over time the message is subject to change. Lore can be embellished, elaborated, exaggerated, ect.
That being said, by calling the stories League releases "vague" you would be right on the money. The lore is probably meant to be open-ended, they wouldn't give you all the information because that is just a back story with a beginning, middle, and end.
I would like to say that I am not against people posting interpretations and speculations about Champs. It's those "I am so confused, why doesn't League make things easier for me to understand!" posts that annoy me... It is complaining for the sake of it. These same people are probably the same people that queue to decline matches for the heck of it, feed the other team because they didn't get what they want, and d/c because they wanted to carry and got rocked 30 times! But I digress.
Food for thought: What if every game is the end of the champions story in a parallel universe? Infinite number of outcomes! If these champs had a glorious, complete back stories it would be like "Garen seized the opportunity to encounter the Sinister Blade again. A paragon of Demacian ethic, Garen never entertained such allegations, for he knew others couldn't understand. Even simply the pursuit of a worthy opponent on the battlefield is, to a true warrior, the reason to rise each morning. The promise of one, particularly so beautifully and diametrically opposed, is the validation of his existence." Then the end would read like. "Garen was summoned to battle by forces unknown, sword drawn he ran into battle! With an unparalleled determination in his eyes he met his enemies... A FLASH OF LIGHT, AN EXPLOSION, then silence. As the light in Garen's eye's dims, only two words echoing in his head mockingly, "FIRST BLOOD"... whatever force it was urging him to fight did not take into consideration that he could not match the five foes he found. Just as the silence starts to feel comforting Garen feels himself being ripped back into existence. He scans the horizon of this familiar battleground, he observes that not much time has passed since his final moments in this struggle. Garen is struck with a feeling of complete horror as he feels compelled to yet again charge into the fray. As he is decimated by this unrelenting team once more, all he can think is,"This must be hell...""
Sucks to be him....
Well thanks for reading! Understand that this rant was mostly brought on by boredom. My friends I normally queue with are not available and I was reading the posts about Bard. Fueled by my adderall and a couple "tall boy" monsters I decided to do this!
