The Riot Servers crash, but I still lose LP...

I have witnessed twice now trying to load into a game, everything going fine, and then at some point during the load in screen losing connection with the servers. I made sure it wasn't my internet and I had a perfectly fine connection. Then when I tried to start up League again (after my client crashed) it wouldn't let me connect into the servers. I gave up and then the next day when I opened up League I had lost like 20 LP and a defeat showed up in my match history. Losing one games worth of LP isn't a huge problem, but this is a problem that I think should be fixed.
