Mystery Skins: Beneficial or not?

So... The mystery skins you can buy for yourself are back.

I can never resist buying as many as I can..

But does anyone have data showing the average return on investment?

Well its physically impossible to get a skin worth less then the 490 RP for the mystery gift. At worst you'll get a 520 RP skin, and even then you made a profit of about 50 cents. (Awesome I know)

But with the amount of 975 RP skins, getting nothing but 520 RP skins is pretty low in most cases.

What would be good is if you could veto champions - maybe one veto for every ten champions you own. That way, I wouldn't have to worry about getting stuck with a skin for someone like Alistar or Poppy.

It's all about luck. I've gotten skins like Aether Wing Kayle, Zombie Brand, Firefighter Trist and Gentleman Cho. But I've also gotten skins that I will never use like skins for Poppy since I never play her. But I've mystery gifted myself about 30 times (in hopes of getting Ravenborn LB since I missed it when it came out - I know you can get it in the a bundle now but for me its like 4,000 RP) and I have gotten nice legacy skins and skins Ill never use.

I've also gotten stuff like All Star Akali and Championship Thresh (which are skins that my friends are jealous of lol).
