the answer to this question depends on how one defines sound. If sound is merely the particular wavelengths produced by the collision of 2 objects and then propagated through the medium we call air, then yes, a sound was produced.

but if you define something as a sound only when it is registered by the human brain then the question is redundant due to no humans being present.
