Server Move? 3000 Ping? Why?

Why did they have to move there server location? Im from Canada, Alberta. My ping has never ever been above 80, now whenever i go to play summers rift and i get into a battle with either one or more champions my ping gets to a 3000+. On a good day its a minimum of **600 **ping not fighting that's just standing in spawn. All my friends have had this problem too. One lives in Canada as well but some leave other places in the states. I thought it was absolutely fine before. I get that other people were lagging to, that are far from the server location, but you could have just set another location that way it lets you connect to whatever one that is less laggy. The game would be more fun for everyone if they had an option for a less laggy game. I realize some people have bad computers or internet but i am not one of these people and my internet speed is fine its just once i get into the game it starts lagging. Its literally no fun when you are trying to play with your friends but you cannot because you cant move. I know this wont change anything, i just needed to let some frustration off about this whole thing ever since the server move it hasn't been as fun to play league.
