Cyberbullying

I have been a member of your community for some time now. In this time I have witnessed Cyber bullying on a whole new level. From sexual harassment, to outright threats, repeated degrading belittling remarks. The list would go on so long that it would take more time then I care to give to describe them all.

I have reported these situations when they happen. However, I firmly believe that this community is not nearly providing enough attention to the standing problems at hand. Cyberbullying is a crime, one which your community should take very seriously.

Why this issue has gone on so long and is so out of control I have no idea.

I've posted this because I believe that you as a community and a company should take a stand.

Don’t respond to and don’t forward cyberbullying messages. Keep evidence of cyberbullying. Record the dates, times, and descriptions of instances when cyberbullying has occurred. Save and print screenshots, and private messages. Use this evidence to report cyberbullying LOL providers. Block the person who is cyberbullying.

Something needs to be done here. I'm 35 years old and I can tell you right now, that I would never let my children near this game. The game itself is enjoyable, gamming with friends is fun, BUT SERIOUSLY LOL when are you going to step up and put a stop to this kind of behavior??

While riot certainly has a right to police their game as they see fit, they have no responsibility to make sure your eyes never see words you would rather not see. You may misunderstand cyber bullying a bit, but it doesn't apply to an anonymous game identity that you can easily leave.

At no point do you have to play, or talk to anyone. You do not have to listen to anything that is typed, nor do you ever have to hear from a player you do not like again. They also will never have the opportunity to contact you further in any other context or harass you after you 30 or so minutes you spent with them. Furthermore, nobody is aware of your real identity, so they can not actually harass you in any valid personal way.

If you honestly think that it should be illegal for people to say mean things to each other in a chat box of an online game (that can be muted) then I can suggest some countries that may be better suited to your fragile state of mind.
