Items for Lux?
I just purchased Lux and I need help finding a decent item set up that works well for her. The recommended list doesn't always help and I never know which items to go with for new (to me) champs. Please help?

I usually check probuilds.net for guidance when researching new champions. Keep in mind they only post the builds that professional/high elo players use, they don't really explain their choices. Mobafire is also a great resource, and also more in-depth, though the guides are just one person's opinion (for the most part), and sometimes you get weird experimental builds.
Assuming you're playing Lux mid lane:
I usually build Lux like I do most mid lane mages, which is 21/0/9 masteries (some pros, Bjergsen for example, usually run 21/9/0 on mages), AP/MagicPen/Armor/MR for runes (granted I only have two rune pages, I would look up builds on the aforementioned sites for specifics). For items:

when you get the chance. You're probably going to at least want lvl 1 boots before you finish your Deathcap or Zhonya's, especially since Lux is fairly immobile, but, as always, you're going to want to tailor your build to best fit your situation in game. If you didn't go for Deathcap first, go for that next, or vice versa if you went for Zhonya's first, unless you need a defensive item immediately and can't get a Zhonya's/Zhonya's isn't enough, in which case 
is a good option, especially versus specific champions/team comps due to the spell shield. You are going to want to pay attention to the other team when figuring out your defensive item, also for when you need to build your defensive item. In most cases you won't need more than one, since you're not supposed to be tanking damage, but stay flexible with your builds (you are going to want to prioritize damage as Lux, since if she isn't doing much damage, she isn't doing much at all).

Of course there are a wide variety of builds you can go with, this is just a pretty generic mid lane mage build that works pretty well on most mages in the game, Lux included. Hope this helps!
I don't know if this is the best build, but I usually go Athenes, Sorc shoes, Rabadons, Void Staff, Morellinomicon, and then either Zhonya's or another defensive item (Banshees, GA, etc). But there are probably better builds out there.
Thanks guys. I'll check each build out. I normally go wherever I'm told to go. I can ask for mid and see if that build works. I'm also learning how to use Lux effectively.
