My Ultimate Bard Theory!- The Best Bard Ever and the Eradication of the Moon Tribe
Hello there{{summoner:2}} , My name is IcarianWingz. I'm currently unranked on the NA server, but have been playing casually with friends since 2010. I've always been intersested in LoL lore, and since we haven't been given much lately, I like to take a mile with every inch that I get. This little essay is the result of that coupled with what can only be described as my overhype for Bard. Obviously this is just speculation, but I do believe that most of you will agree with my a lot my assumptions. This is going to cover a lot of ground and a lot of lore so, without further adieu, let's begin at the beginning.

Think back to the original bard teaser, it talks about the rise of the Frozen Watchers, saying they were once enslaved. This implies that Lissandra
who was said to have betrayed her tribe to them centuries ago, was possibly freeing them from some form of captivity. It shows the fall of Shurima following the ascension of Xerath
. Looking back at Azir's
lore we see him arising to aid his last descendant Sivir
, and to restore balance to Shurima. Finally the teasers talk about Sion's
death and resurrection by the Black Rose, which according to Sion's
new lore essentially destabilized Noxus and Darkwill was assassinated soon after and replace by Black Rose member, Swain
. Now you may be asking yourself what do these have in common at all, and to that I say; Each of these events have pivotal impacts on the history of their respective region, involve mysterious ancient magic, and of course they're all in the Bard teaser.
Now to tie it all together. Bard's newly released lore implies that he is some sort of tool, for lack of a better word, for the universe to keep things balanced. This means he travels through space interfering with every pivotal event in the history of man. He was in the Freljord when Lissandra
betrayed her tribe, he was in Shurima when Xerath
fooled Azir
(and probably when Azir
was resurrected as well), and he was involved somehow with Sion's
resurrection or possibly the repercussions of it. This near omnipresennce coupled with knowledge of every major historical event ever means that Bard is legitimately the greatest bard in the history of fiction.
This is where my theory gets a little more specific and far fetched. I think we can all agree the new video takes place in Valoran. My theory is that it is set specifically 20-30 years ago in Mt. Targon. The man at the beginning is Darius
and Draven's
father leading a Noxian invasion to gain possession of a moon stone . The stones from Nami's
lore that her people, the Marai, are to trade an abyssal pearl for every 100 years to light their civilization. As the stone is about to fall into the destructive hands of Noxus, the universe's balance keeper swoops in and saves the day grabbing the stone, and performing a wicked sax solo and a light show to boot. He escapes to the stars, apparently leaving the tribe to burn at the hands of Noxian might. This eradication eventually leaves the Marai prophecy unfulfilled, with nobody to meet Nami
and trade over the stone. It leads to the Rakkor covering up the eradication of a their neighbor tribe, and the eventual uncovering of the truth by Diana
. (Possible Diana rework incoming? Rito please.)
Thanks for taking the time out of your day to read my rambling theory. Hope you all have a great time with Bard, I know I will!
TL;DR-- BARD = BEST BARD NA
