Hi guys, I recently just finished my promos and i went 8-2. Last season i think i finished at silver 1, but League of Legends put me at silver 2. If you guys can see my match history and stuff, I was wondering why I dropped to silver 2, despite my promos record and kda in games. Can someone explain to me why I was dropped down? I would really appreciate it!
everybody placed lower, it was intended. I believe it said in the patch notes during the time of the ranked reset.
I went 8-2 and placed the same :D. Anyway, there are a few things that go into your placements too. The first 5 games are more important than the last 5. Did you lose 2 in the beginning or end? Also it takes into account the MMR of your opponents during those games. You might just have been in a couple of 'easy' games where you were vs people who were lower MMR and thus you didn't gain as much for a win.
You didn't drop. Every season your rank resets. You got very close to your previous rank which is pretty good. Now you don't have to waste the whole year getting your previous top rank and you can start improving right away. Placements are not intended for you to get your previous rank, they place you almost from scratch. It's a whole new season, new challenge, you don't inherit your previous rank from season 4.
lol placements don't mean anything. I went from Plat 5 to Gold 2 while playing against plat 2-3s because of how the games get lopsided from placements. i got back to plat in like 3 days of casual gaming.
