Hepster's Dictionary

Turns out the saying is older than you think! From the Cab Calloway Hepster's Dictionary first compiled in 1938.

Scroll down for "salty." Earliest known usage. From there, it extended to the urban youth until some gamer heard it, thought it sounded cool and introduced it to the gaming scene, where it caught on.

I hate that word so much. I genuinely prefer toxic.

salt is a great ingredient in most dishes. also, namely the christian religion refers to salt as a positive attribute that a person without salt is worthless.

so if it takes me to afk, troll, take smite and steal red / blue from our jungler to be as salty as i can, i will do it.

no jk i dont do that. x)

People say salty because they think it's funny. Whether they're right is up to your own personal interpretation... but that's why they do it.
