well i'm not sure whats smurfs do but AFKs can be a bother but depending on your team can easy late game if you can delay such as my 4/5/3 
was shoving turrents to heck because the opponent team was to busy pushing so the best you can do when there's an afk is hold out till late game. depending on your team sometimes you can 3 v 5 teams depending on your champions and build
