What games do you play when you're not on league?

Looking for something to play when I don't feel like playing or don't have anyone on to play with. I just finally played through Bastion but can't find any other games to get into. Any recommendations?

I'm usually playing The Binding of Isaac. It's cheap, and has a ton of replay value, imo. :]

Osu! Pretty hard rhythm game, but fun once you get used to it, also it's free on the PC, or tablet, all you need is to download it, and the songs

Ooh, Bastion's good.

I tend to stick to free games, so if you're looking for some games that won't hurt your wallet try out....

  • Hearthstone
  • FireFall
  • Smite (yes it's another Moba, but it can be a nice change of pace)
  • Path of Exile
  • Team Fortress 2
  • Planetside 2
  • War Thunder

(Of course, being free, they're not going to be AAA polished)

If you're looking foe some good pick up & plays (not free but cheap)....

  • Risk of Rain
  • Psuchonauts
  • Race the Sun
  • Ikaruga
  • FTL

I have plenty more suggestions for some good games, tell me what kinds you like and I should be able to point you to a few ^_^

Path of Exile, Hearthstone (moreso now that they released some new content). Diablo 3 (I take looooong breaks from this game, will get back into it when they release the next big patch) and irl Magic the Gathering.

I am currently addicted to Kerbal Space Program, it's taking up most of my non-League time.

I really like Guild Wars 2 and WildStar. I also love Boarderlands 2. The new Trove game is pretty fun from Trion Games, it's in alpha but it's only $5.

I've been playing Crypt of the Necrodancer recently - its a rhythm roguelike game currently in Alpha/Early Access on Steam. The music is great, the gameplay is really fun, and you can even play with a DDR pad! :D

Been playing Expendabros, Hearthstone, and Fallout 3 while I'm not on League.

I play the game where I think about when exactly Riot is going to address network issues and not delete prominent threads where people are globally voicing their issues unmaking the fact instability is server based.

I been playing a lot of Warframe ( free 3rd person shooter, think Mass Effect +Brink and it is4 player co-op with some pvp) and DIablo 3 ( both games have been improved greatly over the years.)

I've been spamming Fire Emblem: Awakening. It's a great strategy game with incredibly deep character interactions.

Riot could learn something from the way lore and character interactions are handled in that game.

Aside from League Of Legends, I tend to play tons of Diablo III. I also like a FPS once a year like Battlefield 4 or Halo 4. And i think Malphite's new head closely resembles the head of Diablo Malphite

GW2, PvE is a ton of fun but PvP kind of sucks. The developers refuse to make redesign scale changes to systems which are not fun, engaging, or viable, no matter how obvious the need. Believe it or not, coming from GW2 back to LoL, I used to be angered by, but am now incredibly satisfied with, how RIot is willing to just cut stuff out of the game if its unhealthy for the play environment, Arenanets developers are not willing to do that at all and the games PvP severely suffers for it.

I play crossfire, a FPS game :D

Lol, the lists I could give...

I always cycle between Kinetica and Devil May Cry on my PS2 and Chrono Cross on my PSX. They never get old.

Halo is great for 15 minute breaks from anything, really.

Skyrim for the PC is a deathtrap as the mods keep the game interesting way longer than it could on its own. I went vegetative when I loaded it with immersion mods. :P

Tekken, Marvel vs. Capcom, King of Fighters, Alien Hominid, Battleblock Theater, Castle Crashers, Castlevania, etc.

Silent Hill and Resident Evil have always had a special place in my heart as well.

If you're into handhelds, 9 Hours, 9 Person, 9 Doors is easily one of the best games ever made. Haven't finished the sequel yet though.

On the note of greats, The Longest Journey games are also in my top 10. I have them for PC.

If you're into immersive MMO's you might like The Secret World. The ARG's for that game are unbelievably good and the community is awesome (last I checked anyway.) I stopped playing because I wanted my creative pursuits to feed my writing and creative works rather than a character I could've easily lost myself in. The ARG's and role-play are so good, I didn't want to fall victim to them (if that makes sense.) It doesn't help that stuff like that fascinates me though, so you may not have that problem.

Diablo 3, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas. Spelunky, Terraria, Binding of Issac. If you want something pretty mindless than you can play Peggle or Bejeweled. Mass Effect series is great and so is Borderlands. If you like shooters, than Planetside 2 is pretty decent and its free to play. I play a lot of Civ 5. And you could also play Hearthstone if you are into that kind of game.

I play smite. Moba but first person. When I get sick of it I am reminded how much I miss LOL

ChaosThief8/9/2014, 1:03:14 AM1 votes

I have two side games, one of them is really, REALLY weird, called osu. It's a single player rhythm game, or multiplayer, mostly single player though.

The other one is hearthstone. A pretty simple but fun (as their slogan says) game.

Depends on what I feel like playing at the time...

Shooting almost anything that moves on screen like an old arcade title? Major Mayhem Something isometric and tactical with the old Fallout vibe? Underrail Something tactical but much more modern? XCOM: Enemy Unknown Hack'n'Slash spree needed? Torchlight 2/Sacred 2/Titan Quest/Ys Origin Need to ahh... "fleece" some customers? Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale. Capitalism Ho! Short on time? Half Minute Hero Need some Orc flambe with ragdolls on the side? Orcs Must Die! 2 Feel like playing a side scrolling brawler? Valdis Story - Abyssal City or Guacamelee! Gold Edition Tongue-in-cheek humor? Unepic

I play viva piñata... What?

Dundai8/9/2014, 3:27:44 AM1 votes

Dungeon Defenders.

It's like a First Person tower defense that isn't terrible in the slightest. Plenty of levels, difficulties, challenges that are different, and gear to grind for. Makes the game last a while and is fun. The beauty of it being First Person is that it's not all about the towers. If you feel like it you can dive in with your sword or bow or wand and hack them personally.
