The name of a player is often something to look at to determine if you want them on a team with you. It'd be more convenient for the players who get declined, so they don't have to end up in a game, then get kicked, and it's more convenient for captains so they can set up their teams better.

I hadn't really thought of the fact that there ARE names out there that people could be biased about completely from things in real life, and could lead to discrimination. My reasoning still stands, but this is a breaking factor that I did not consider.

also, what if "xXSn1perk1d93214xX" is the nicest person NA and you would have become best buddies in game and maybe even IRL if you had not been a bigot scumbag looking only at the surface (name)? you havent learned that even if someone doesnt look like they jumped out of a mag, are the cheerleader captain or the mvp football jock, that they can still have a decent personality. Get over yourself.

Their name isn't something they can't change. A scumbag would judge someone based on something they can't help. A name is what they chose, what represents them, unlike a race, sex, or appearance, whatever else. Someone who represents something, for example, sexism, by wearing a shirt that said 'I hate men/women' would be someone you'd think to be someone to avoid or not be friendly to, but hey "they could be the nicest person NA". "But sexism is something completely different.", but is it really if you're just judging them by that part of their "cover"? Yes, but by only the part that it is more extreme. You're supposed to ENTIRELY ignore that?
I entirely understand that your standpoint from "don't judge a book by it's cover", but thinking that you can't get anything from their name or what they explicitly represent is ridiculous and silly. My point is, when you're in a library, you judge the literal books by the covers to find what you probably would like to read, and albeit you may be wrong that you wouldn't like it, you're going to more often run into things you like than if you blindly accept every book.
