Why do you play League?

The reason I play goes back to some of the better games i've ever played: Ocarina of Time, Mariokart, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Mario 64, Marioparty, and Smash Bros. on the Nintendo 64. I always loved breaking into a new adventure and joining my favorite characters on their next quest.

But the best part was playing with my brother. We'd have epic clashes on Smash, drafting teams and playing 1v1's. Setting up games with 99 lives and beating in quickest time. His Fox versus my Samus. It never got old. We'd just play Marioparty for the mini-games and compete on our favorites. We'd laugh at all the humor of Conker's and how different a Nintendo game it was at the time....All the great memories showed me the reason I play league and most games in general: I love the shared experience.

_The best part of a game may be the storyline. Or the characters. Or the graphics. Or the soundtrack. But the best part of playing a game is the shared experience with your friends. _ I absolutely flip out in all the lore of Halo and finding the hidden backstories in the games connecting it all together; but it's just so much more fun when I can share that with another who appreciates the lore and gets just as excited wondering what happened to Cortana after Halo 4 or whether or not there are still Primordials. Playing the Last of Us is so much more fun when sharing commentary with a friend about all the situations, Ellie's puns, and if a bottle will ever be as useful as a brick. I have to say, as well, that watching the trailer for the Last of Us pt. 2 is immensely more exciting with a friend and having an hour long discussion of what the game could be about than having the experience alone.

This is why I play league: I love the shared experience. The adrenaline rush of a 5v5 team fight and the room roaring with a crazed mixture of commands, laughter, and insanity. The guidance and tips a friend gives to another for a new champ or play style. The late nights grinding games out during bonus IP weeks. The bragging of great skill to a friend in a clutch 1v1, knowing you won it by dumb luck and a misclick by the opponent. To me, league would just be a game I played for an hour in-between other things I was doing if not for the friends I have around it.

So, hello to those that read my wall. I ask you now, why do you play league? What entices you to join nine other summoners on the Rift?

I wanted to play warcraft 3 but i didn't managed to install it on my computer, also valve at that time made that super hypy promotional dota 2 video, with the merchant and stuff, but they were too dumb to 1) release the actual game 2) give out actual keys, i remember a friend of mine having like 40 keys and i had none, he gifted me one and then valve sent me like 17 free keys, when i didn't needed them anymore. Tried to install dota but at the last step "LOL U LIL FUCKER, U DON'T HAVE THE GRAPHIC CARD IT TAKES TO PLAY THIS GAME" so i was like, wtf, i know my pc is a toaster, but it managed to run oblivion in wine and starcraft, so i think it should handle it, i checked the supported graphic cards and mine WAS there, it was just the game refusing to install (fun fact: in a windows VM i managed to install it, but since it had a VM on it took like 5839584 tons of ram). A bunch of bronze V friends of mine were: WOO, TEEMO IS OP! WHY DON'T YOU INSTALL LOL? So here i am.

I hate league of legends. I hate playing it. I wanted to quit, but didnt want to be one of those: " League is shit game, so unbalanced, thats why I quit. But I am bronze" So I played purely to climb to a rank that has the look of understanding or skill, so that when I shit talk the game it seems more informed.

Sadly, somewhere along the way I learned to play and started climbing fast... and I hate the game a little bit less...

I think when you learn to play its actually enjoyable.
