Why are you using Wi-Fi ?

Wi-Fi is laggy. Wi-Fi is instability. Wi-Fi is easy to come under other influences. Your connection will be cut off because you use Wi-Fi. Why don't you use ethernet? You don't have cable? It is stupid to use the Wi-Fi by the online game that went by way of a general net line.

I'm confused. Wireless these days is nearly indistinguishable from a wired connection. You shouldn't decline the use of wi-fi over wired simply because of statements like this, but if you're personally having a problem with yours.

Using Wi-Fi to game with is the definition of stupidity. Everything the OP said could happen, happens a lot when using Wi-Fi. Why take the chance? Same stupidity applies to idiots who use wireless mice and keyboards then whine their battery ran out during the game. SIMPLE STUPIDITY that can be remedied by having common sense. Hardwire in, period.

I've been using a wireless mouse and internet this whole time. Zero problems. The common sense to remedy any problems is not forgetting to charge the mouse.

You are one of the few. Most do not. See it all the time. A lot of stupid people with zero common sense. Kudos to you for having some.

There's a difference. I feel the difference. If I'm going to be gaming (even on a laptop), I almost require an ethernet cable, because there is a very noticeable difference.

that really really depends, friend. you are making a blanket statement which really is only true in certain circumstances. wireless CAN be indistinguishable if you can rule out interfering factors. Playing wired gives you a stable uninterrupted connection.

Wireless can be fickle, especially if there are multiple users and you don't have the best internet. As a rule of thumb, you are always better off wired.

But i completely agree with you if you live alone, noone else uses your connection and you have the equipment to run a high transfer rate wireless, then there is no big difference to a wired connection.

I don't think you're giving it enough credit. I run on a network serving several users simultaneously, router in another room so the signal strength is minimal, and the internet service itself is pretty poor; all works without a hitch regardless. Signal interference isn't like two people playing with remote control toys on the same frequency.

its about reliability. with Ethernet you are guaranteed a stable dl/ul, no interference and no spikes in latency/transferrate. you can not guarantee that via WiFi. if it works for you, great but Ethernet is faster, more consistent and more stable and not prone to interference by cellphones, radio and whatever else there is.

here's a link to a fairly recent article about the differences. There is a difference between WiFi and Ethernet and Ethernet is plain better for gaming. but as i say, if WiFi works for you, great!

I played on Wi-Fi for seven years on this game and other MMO's before moving, never once had an issue, I mean literally not ONE time did I ever have a problem. Maybe you guys just don't know how it works or something? I also use a rechargeable mouse, guess how many times it's died during a game, zero.

I only play on wifi, 0 issues. Most of the people that play this game that do have connection issues, it is because their computer is full of viruses and bugs. Riot has really gone far to have it so the game is really stable.

Stupid is to be using absolutes. There are situations when using WiFi is just fine and causes no issues. I personally like Ethernet better but you cant dismiss WiFi with blanket statements that just are not always true. WiFi is not always lagging or unstable. I own a Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 Router and together with my 30Mbps DL / 5Mbps UL playing games over Wifi is just fine. I just prefer being wired. My connections will not be cut off because of WiFi, except if the internet goes down and guess what: that also affects Ethernet. Are you mad that someone dc'ed in one of your games and he said something like: my WiFi wasn't stable? Report him for AFK. If people consistently play on a bad connection (WiFi or Ethernet) they should get reported. But YOU cant just dismiss ALL WiFi just because you think all WiFi is the devil.

read up before you make absolute statements that just aren't true!

what you said ??? 30Gbps???? you wanna say 30Mbps ???? The home Internet fastest all over the world is 2Gbps.

yes yes, thank you

Why do you talk about the wireless mouse?

It is a mistake to think that there is not influence. You cannot watch a rag of your own.Even if you think that there is not a problem, the other has a big problem. The wireless network is affected by other electronic equipment. The wireless network may cut it by the electromagnetic wave of the microwave oven, such poor. If you think that there is not a problem, you look laggy to your enemy.

Because of your lag, your enemy can not move smooth or use skill. Lag is very annoying.
