Legacy Skins

Hey guys, I haven't been playing League for that long, and i have a question for y'all.

I would like to know how legacy skins work. I really like Caterpillar Kog'Maw, even though its just a recolor, but its a legacy skin so it's obviously not available in the store. Like, I get that they are old skins that have been sort of "retired" I guess you could say, but Is there any way to acquire a legacy skin after it's removed from the shop? Like do they ever go on sale again at certain times, like the holiday themed skins, or am I just too late?

During events and I believe near christmas time, just keep an eye on the news page and it'll inform you when they coming back out temporarily.

they come back occasionally, it seems eventually every year each legacy skin will be available at some point. also mystery skins can get you legacy skins.

Alright guys, thanks for the replies. Guess I'll just have to wait and keep a look out for it. In the mean time, anyone have a Kog skin they can recommend? I am stuck deciding between Deep Sea and Jurassic.
